Audience

   The Quill's audience is the students and staff at Glendale, as well as the surrounding community. We must create desirable content for a variety of ages because we reach students, parents, administration and businesses. We engage our audience in many different ways and promote good relationships with everyone we interview. The Quill also interacts with businesses through ad sales. 

Engagement

Distribution

   When we receive each issue from the printer, we load copies onto carts and deliver them to each class. We communicate with teachers to make sure they know we are coming. We give copies of the Quill to students and staff members who want them, and we keep the extras. Every person we interview from the community receives a copy of the Quill with a thank-you note. I always try to personally deliver my thank-you notes to every person I interview, but I also mail them to people I am not able to see in person. With the thank-you notes, we hope to establish positive relationships.

Marketing

   Each member of the Quill has a t-shirt. Editors also have sweatshirts. Anytime we wear our Quill apparel, we promote our magazine. 

   The Quill staff works very closely with the marketing students at my school as well. The marketing students sell ads throughout the community, and we publish the ads in the magazine. This is an example of a spread with ads from our winter 2018 issue. The ad sales fund our magazine.
